Responsibilities Evaluates health of employees returning to work after an illness or injury. Coordinates worker's compensation claims. Evaluates health of new hires and conducts related tests, such as TB tests. Administers injections as prescribed. Provides related education to staff. Communicates frequently with physicians, department managers, hospital committees, staff, and outside regulatory bodies (OSHA, DHR, JCAHO). Education Requirements Completion of an accredited educational program for Practical or Vocational Nursing. Possesses current N.C. Practical Nurse license. Certification in occupational health preferred. Minimum Experience, Knowledge, Skill, and Ability Requirements Three (3) years of nursing experience, preferably in an employee health role. Proven administrative, organizational, analytical, written, verbal, and problem-solving skills. Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a hospital setting. Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services; this includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction. Good skills in time management and organization. Excellent communication skills. Professional demeanor and ability to multi-task. |
