Responsibilities Maintains bacteriological as well as visual cleanliness of the hospital. Maintains a safe and sanitary environment for hospital patients, staff, and visitors. Performs a variety of housekeeping duties within hospital and outlying buildings. Cleans patient rooms, ancillary areas, and all assigned areas. Assists with room set up, pest control, stocking soap and paper products, and disbursement of clean lines. Removes trash, biohazardous waste, and soiled linens. Supports inventory control though ethical usage of materials, proper use of housekeeping equipment, and in lifting and moving supplies. Education Requirements High school diploma or equivalent. Good communications skills. Minimum Experience, Knowledge, Skill, and Ability Requirements Housekeeper 1: Beginning level handles routine work and problems. Six (6) months of housekeeping experience. Carries out assignments after general instructions. Basic knowledge of hospital housekeeping methods/techniques, cleaning agents, and equipment. Good communications skills. Ability to multi-task and accomplish work within an allotted timeframe. Ability to read and write English. |
