Responsibilities Performs a wide variety of nursing care activities for patients upon registration, under the supervision of a Physician or Registered Nurse. Provides professional nursing care to infant, child, teen and adult patients. Performs as a caregiver, utilizing the nursing process. Collaborates with Physician or Registered Nurse on all steps of the nursing process in the planning and delivery of patient care. Provides basic patient care, obtaining data for patient, identifying the chief complaint, assisting in routine office procedures and test. Demonstrates competency and accuracy in the delivery and documentation of patient care based on identified nursing problems which includes, but is not limited to: administering medications by all routes as prescribed, assisting with circumcisions, and suturing, vigilant with processing measurement of growth parameters and other procedures (according to the limitations of the LPN license). Demonstrates ability to operate in a fully functional lab, perform venipuncture, and administer IV fluids. Exhibits competency with the Complete Blood Count (CBC) machine. Maintains accurate and complete documentation. Assisting with patient/family education. Assist with ordering of Clinical supplies and vaccines. Education Requirements Graduate of an accredited school of practical nursing. Must have a current North Carolina License Practical Nurse license and CPR certification (ACLS, PALS, or NRP). |
